THE market share of Windows in Africa has fallen to 16%, so all those bribes to African officials (or habitual visits from the Famous Criminal Bill Gates) could not "contain" the competition.
Finding more/additional/new/unique information about the Microsoft mass layoffs isn't easy (Google News is more time-wasting than help) and we probably need whistleblowers (disgruntled insiders) to either approach some media outlet or us directly. It's hard to tell just how many Microsoft employees/contractors/temps are being let go this month, hiring freeze aside. But things aren't rosy and in some parts of Washington Microsoft got rid of the majority of its staff. █
