Survey: Windows Share/Burden on Laptops and Desktops Down From 96% to 76% in 10 Years in Greece (GNU/Linux Grew to 10%)
THE numbers from Turkey and Greece have fascinated us this past year because, according to statCounter, 71% of non-phone devices (connected to the Web) in Greece run Windows (it was 94% a decade ago) or 76% if one limits it to desktops and laptops compared to 96% a decade ago. Add "smart" phones to the mix and then Android has an all-time high of 54%. Windows? Down from 90% to 29% in one decade! We're not sure how accurate those numbers are (the general trends matter more) or what to make of them. We'll leave that for readers to decide. █
