3 Weeks Till Our 17th Anniversary
MORE than four years have passed since we celebrated the 15th anniversary of Tux Machines. Time sure does fly, considering that this was before COVID-19. 3 weeks from now this site is turning 17 (Tux Machines will be 20 in summer) and we're planning to celebrate, at least online.
Things have been good for us lately and we're grateful for it. Mobsters won't put us down, they'll just drive themselves insane and eventually be exposed for all the illegal things they did to us. The very thought of accountability (for their actions) scares them greatly. They try to censor the people they have long abused.
We're been posting a lot of GNU/Linux advocacy lately, perhaps just in time for another round of mass layoffs at Microsoft. None of that surprises us. We expected and correctly predicted this, including the timing of the layoffs. As recently as days ago!
Microsoft's 'news' sites (notably MSN) are spinning these layoffs as "reorg" and blame staff for 'leaking' the list of those in the "shortlist" (for removal), but no amount of spin can change the fast that Microsoft and Windows are shrinking fast. Microsoft's financial "results" are just the same old accounting fraud, so don't pay much attention to these. Enron-style fiscal modus operandi is the new normal and tax evasions are seen as a minor infraction rather than an arrestable offence when companies with a legion of lobbyists commit the crime. █
