defenceless
validation recognition seemingly likeminded individuals in a shared space joy bubbling underneath let it stay hidden don't reveal a thing confess to nothing my mother said never change never lose that sensitive side but to be vulnerable defenceless against not even malice, hostility but indifference the cruel confirmation I am indeed invisible

Walking along the Limmat
My lower back hurts and I think it’s better to take long walks than to sit at the computer as I usually do. So the plan for today is to read the newspaper on the balcony, surrounded by plants; then eat the best baklava in town (Damaskus) – well, nearby. And then I walked back home. About 8km in 2h, that went well. And I took some pictures.

AI and brain atrophy
I've been using the AI quite a bit recently, ever since I started giving it a try. And I must say... it's awful. At first it was fun, I could bounce an idea off with the thing and it was useful, the AI itself did little, it was just a medium where I could express my own thoughts freely and develop them almost on my own. The AI acted as a sort of mirror for my brain. But as time passed, I realized it's more of a crutch, something that keeps me from actually using my brain.

I don't understand doomscrollers
I've been seeing a lot of articles lately about people who describe themselves as addicted to social media. They want to "detox" and even fail at that. I just don't understand this "doomscrolling" at all. Maybe someone can explain it to me sometime.
I’ve had a Mastodon/ActivityPub account for over a year now, but I only use it sporadically. I can’t really get into it. Most of it is just short messages and pointless chatter. I’ve already muted the worst posters, but I just don't understand how someone could spend the whole day with it. But maybe I'm using it wrong.

Arguments Parsing
No arguments, in some tools, means to read from standard input. Perl here copies from such tools as sed(1) and awk(1) and makes it easy to operate on standard input or the given file(s).
