Cybercrimes and Online Abuse From Extremists and Militants on a VPN/Tor

A straitjacket or lobotomy won't solve this issue

All about an old fortress

THE following statement is a short statement about the deranged militants who have been attacking us for over a year. Longtime readers are already familiar with the ringleaders, who weaponised crazies against people who criticise corporations that do awful things. It's an old political tactic with shorter history in our domain.

Their attacks haven't stopped. They have nothing to left to lose, so they go further.

We have substantial and clear evidence that Canadian and American (US) laws are now being flagrantly breached in an effort to make life harder for us. It's not the first time this is done (it has gone on for months already), and we moreover estimate that hours are being spent doing this. We'll keep the evidence private until a later date. We have interesting things to show on Monday (Forging IRC Logs and Impersonating Professors).

The same people are shamelessly attacking women (not only my wife), slandering people, and much worse. They're doing this to other people too (for well over a decade already). Some of those other people spoke out and named the culprits.

Do not be fooled by these culprits. Their camouflage is thin. They do not support Free software. They are just targeting the Free software community for "audience". Having been banned by Twitter for extremism, they prey on our IRC network and send abusive mail, including SPAM. And yes, British Police is fully informed of it, though it's not a high priority until (or unless) we file a lawsuit.

The matter shall be escalated to the relevant authorities in due course (it's already weekend here). Until then, we shall stay productive.

It seems clear that many of the things we publish strike a nerve.
