Free Software Still Demands Patent Reform and Elimination of All Software Patents, Everywhere
THIS coming month we'll be looking a lot more closely at Dutch EPO affairs. There's plenty of catching up to do after 14 years of Benoît Battistelli and António Campinos, the EPO's most corrupt duo, ever. We moreover haven't covered these matters in months in spite of - according to what examiners tell us! - a manic rush to grant software patents in order to fake "production".
Some years ago we were told that almost everyone at the EPO reads Techrights and recent access logs show this has not changed.
The simple reality is, there cannot be software freedom with software patents. Those two things cannot coexist, even if IBM and front groups such as the Linux Foundation constantly lie about it.
We're certain Techrights will continue to face a barrage of attacks for expressing these views. Worry not, however, as we're very robust to censorship. We get better at it every year. We're designed to endure attacks and keep suppressed information online. █
