I'm gonna harden my post
Low hum of portable fan innocently left running uselessly through the night. It sits on the floor of a nook of a room dubbed the living room, despite the fact that we live in all the rooms. But you know how a label and/or phrase can catch on: repeated by enough others often enough to become reality.
(And even if if/when it's not a reality, who's going to blink first about its reality status, therein becoming the disquieting annoyancer who can't just leave well enough alone?)

Through the pub smoke darkly
I wander around. Streets of the web. Non-filter cigarette trailing smoke in my wake, craving coffee, bold caffeine to see me through the night. 4 AM now and only waifers and hobbyists and insomniacs ride the broadband of sites long emptied.
I enter The Midnight. Familiar faces all around, albeit, with an "Away" status to their presence (or, a presumed Away status). I spark another cig at the bar, glancing for nearby patrons. The jukebox, cackling in the back, old tunes of classic music, as well as other one-off classic punk hits play through as I smirk at the barkeep, knowing ~bartender has my favorite memorized. Black coffee. Nothing else.

Delayed disappointment
One of the downers of my li’l “write stuff down on paper and then only later check them online” approach to life is delayed disappointment means more hype having subconsciously been built up to get dashed when the thing doesn’t work out.
Seeing a concert poster of an artist I like? Nice, maybe I can get tix later.
Later: OK no, you need a smartphone with a specific app to get in. (Which is kind of a mismatch now that purses are illegal at events in Stockholm making it even harder to carry phones. Not that I have one.)

Falettinme Be Mice Elf Ag
Bunny and I were in my car when this song from the Sly and the Family Stone [1] came on. On the screen was the title, “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Ag)”. Bunny attempted to read it and was having a hard time with it; I suggested that perhaps XM Radio [2] had used some form of audio transcription that went wrong somewhere, because Sly and the Family were clearly singing “thank you for letting me be myself.”

Sympathy for the porn bots
Earlier this year I went back to my home town to visit family. Whenever I do, I make sure to bring a few things from my childhood with me when I go back for school. Most of my undocumented, undigitized life is still there, in some box, or sitting on some shelf. It'd be impossible to take everything, but over the course of the year I'll recall things that I left behind—things I miss, and when I go back, I make a point to take it with me.

LoRa Radio - LILLYGo T-Deck
I picked up a T-Deck. It looks a bit like a blackberry in form factor, but currently without a housing. I also picked up some sort of 18650-ish form-factor batteries to power it.

Flashing meshtastic was weird. The process was done from Chromium. The browser based flasher gives device selection options, then firmware, and then a dialog to actually do the flashing. The first time I ran it, I failed to put my device into flash mode. I briefly attempted to flash the wrong device (I still don’t know what device /dev/sac0 is in Asahi Linux…)
Hypothetically the process for putting the device into flash mode is to hold down the track ball, toggle the power (or reset it) and hold the trackball down for 2-3 seconds. Except it was more like 4 seconds, and if I held it longer, it seemed to not go into flash mode.
