IBM's "DEI" Means Proprietary Software
"We talk with Edwin Black about IBM’s business with the Nazis, the company’s profit from genocide and the use of technology for war"
Hardly anyone watches IBM's fake (or rather shallow, almost self-contradictory) "DEI" videos. Maybe a dozen people have watched these. Maybe only the people in those videos.
Fedora Week of Diversity 2024, as we noted here last week, was just some niche event (online PR stunt) that demanded the use of proprietary software. Unless you access and use proprietary software, you can barely participate. It is really rather absurd that Fedora OUTSOURCES to PROPRIETARY YouTube and NOTHING else. It says a lot about what Fedora has become because Fedora used to prioritise freedom.
Take-home points: Fedora does NOT value accessibility AND it does not value Free/libre software, you need to use proprietary SPYWARE to view their DEI stuff. It has been a shallow, lousy, half-hearted PR stunt by IBM. The final death blow was accessibility snub. █
