Fedora Week of Diversity 2024 Was Powered by Proprietary Software

Recently: This Week Fedora Celebrates Diversity, But It is Pushing Proprietary Software and Censorship | Fedora Week of Diversity (FWD) 2024 Outsourced to Proprietary Spyware of GAFAM | During Fedora Week of Diversity (FWD) 2024 IBM and Its Subsidiaries Dragged to Court Over Discrimination at the Corporate Level

Fedora employees (i.e. IBM staff) were quick to scoff at people who pointed out diversity staff was promoting stuff like Adobe Photoshop in the Fedora community (like Linux Foundation staff with its made-on-Mac/Adobe stuff), but the general trend is, as these projects open up they end up pushing people to Slack and Google disservices, even if people are initially herded into Matrix (where almost all the links are stuff like YouTube, Microsoft LinkedIn etc.) - i.e. conditioned to do the right thing.

Proprietary Fedora

Diversity is fine, but the "F" in FOSS (maybe in Fedora also) should be freedom. Otherwise, some geeks will become cynical. If instead of opening up to women and minorities we might open up to proprietary software, i.e. become less open. Consider what happened to EFF. It is tragic. █
