Still in Philly
Made sense to stay over the weekend in case heart guy decided to be available. So far, nope. An excuse to enjoy city shopping so not a total loss.

Still Pelican to the Web server on the laptop. Not sure if it's going anywhere (Gemini) or staying where it is.

Michigan
Music brought me to Michigan when I was sixteen, in 1989. I went there with my school's orchestra and choir, and on one day we played a concert at the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Some young people greeted our bus and escorted us with waving flags into the camp. There, boys and girls were mostly separated, which was very strange for me, because in Europe we didnt care much about that any more. Even during the concert int the late afternoon, the boys and girls had to sit on their own sides.

Don't let your "how" become your "why"
Humans, like all other organisms that exist on earth, are the product of evolution. Natural selection developed humans over a period of at least 300,000 years. It molded both our bodies and our minds.
Natural selection is solely determined by the chance of reproduction. Our own happiness plays no part in this. As a result, we all experience a sense of uncertainty and dissatisfaction. It is difficult to be content with what we have in life and we over-valuate the things we don't have.
Marketers are fully aware of our prehistoric conditioning, and their subliminal messages target our feelings of uncertainty and dissatisfaction in order to sell us more meaningless stuff.

Change
What is the last thing you do when everything else fails?
When your world falls apart.
When everything you've been spending your time for the last few years is now fading away?
Writing is what I do in these times.
This is what I do now.
I want to be angry, I want to be proven right.
Fires are raging all around us.

Summer 2024
Even though we get reminded that we will have extreme temperatures this summer, I must say that so far we are enjoying a wonderful summer weather in my area. Oh man it is really hot some days, but i is not as hot as the past two years.

4TH August 2024 - Red Rose Jamboree Days 1 and 2
I have headed off on a Jamboree, a Wcouting term for a large camp in the lake district, England, UK. The event is call3d Red Rose.
Day 1 was spent trqvelling and setting up camp. We left Birmingham at 9ish and arrived by half 1. Not bad fot a speed limited minibus. Driving tbat thing is odd, uncomfortable but oddly fun too. Setting camp was simple enough. We packed so everyone had the same plastix bag. It made life so eaay. Standard bags can be pack3d easily and swiftly. No surprise 5 bags for one person either. After camp was set up, we had an opening ceremony.

Fixing the final errors from my Apache setup
I ended up having a little bit of back-and-forth with the settings of the VM (Virtual Machine) that runs my server, alllowing a bit more memory than it was configured for. And since then, no more such errors in the error log. All that's now showing up is crap like:
[Sun Aug 04 15:58:49.248654 2024] [core:error] [pid 872:tid 4129409968] [client XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:59190] AH10244: invalid URI path (/cgi-bin/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/.%2e/bin/sh) [Sun Aug 04 15:58:51.854583 2024] [core:error] [pid 2444:tid 4120341424] [client XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:59760] AH10244: invalid URI path (/cgi-bin/%%32%65%%32%65/%%32%65%%32%65/%%32%65%%32%65/%%32%65%%32%65/%%32%65%%32%65/%%32%65%%32%65/%%32%65%%32%65/bin/sh)

Greetings from Lynx
I am back home from my holiday trip: I am sad the holiday is over, but also happy to be home.
It is really warm here and I am finding it a bit hard to function. The house is fine (I have aircon), but I pretty much only want to go out in the early morning.
Anyways, I am typing this from terminal, using Lynx. I access most of my hobby projects from a headless RasPi, so I am always happy when things just work with no need to switch to a differen PC. This is very comfy.

They Live
I am not too sure where to write anymore. Between sdf and lucid.observer. At least I got back into using my small portable deck. I've also charged my setup with solar power for the first time in my life. I can last about 2 weeks writing daily and browsing gopher and gemini in the evening.
I'd like to try some wind portable power generator to add to my minimal solar setup, something modular, maybe with a crank for when there is no wind or sun.

Back to scripting!
I have brushed some dust off of my scripts today, and come up with a script that lets me sync my twtxt file (found in my tilde) and display it in HTML on my ichi.city page.
