Roast Upon the Charcoal
Day *five*. Amusingly, I miscalculated on *Day 14*, which should have been *Day 15* if I planned for *Day One* to land on the day before I depart. It turns out that the day before I depart will be *Day Zero*. Well, why not?
As my departure approaches, my emotions churn, as I knew they would. They are affected by everything from what I have for breakfast (or if I have breakfast at all) and lunch to the temperature of pockets of air I walk through as I make my way from the building that houses "our" flat to my guitar lesson or to the supermarket or to the post office.

A Re-framing of Priorities - Part II
For forty years I have breathed the air of this beautiful Earth, felt the nourishment of the Sun upon my face, the fresh and envigorating sting of cold rain and harsh wind; yet breath itself is not life, just the instrument of survival. What, then, is Living? Surely - by any measure - the act of Living is more than just being alive; more than simply existing in Time, and in Space; a single unit of elemental consciousness in the visage of a Man.
I don't know the answer, because I have never Lived; my existence has been one of survival, and inaction. Largely inaction. I lack certain qualities that mark the Living from the Living Dead. For one, I exist in a bubble of my own making, a "zone of comfort" that I rarely step out of. I've built certain security mechanisms around my existence, certain patterns of behaviour that bind me, if you will, and shelter me from the elations, and subsequent and inevitable tragedies, of the Living, yet that provide me comfort only in the physical sense. I've built around me a sort of prison of my own making.

Technology and Free Software

Retroware
There is something magical, for lack of a better term, about using outdated technology. Without it, we wouldn't have the tech of the 2020's, and that's something I think a lot of people take for granted.
So I bought myself three things, a dvd player, a VCR player, and a PS2, all hooked up to the same television. I think it's rather impression how a single television can handle all three consoles from different time periods.

gmlgcd version 2.0
So there we are. More freatures for software that up until now, probably just me is using. Maybe that is going to change though! (maybe?) I figured that the gemlog comment daemon was really written with my usecase in mind, disregarding other needs. So that's why version 2.0 is way more configurable than v1.x!

Google deprecating Manifest v2 - Use Qutebrowser
I've just seen this video on YouTube from Mental Outlaw, where he goes over the deprecation of Manifest V2 in chromium-based browsers and the end of ad blocking in these browsers.

honestly..
..if someone had told me in 2012 that neocities would be coming back, I would have laughed whole-lung while simultaneously telling them how they were wrong and drool red bull while doing so.
