All-Time Low for Microsoft in Africa
Yesterday we mentioned Africa and Gambia. "On the Web," we argued, "in Africa in particular, user strings or UAs that say "Windows" are becoming more rare."
Having just checked the latest from statCounter, Windows is down to an all-time low of less than 13%. In 2009 it was measured at 98%.
Looking outside of Africa, the trends are similar, but the relative share isn't as low as less than 13%. Perhaps not too shockingly, even visits to microsoft.com are declining.
Traffic isn't everything, but it helps show how irrelevant Microsoft is becoming. Think about Skype. █
