Richard Stallman Was Right About "Hey Hi"

Dr. Stallman must be smiling this week (behind the mask). Seeing what goes on at Microsoft and how the slop ("hey hi") bubble is bursting or backfiring on its boosters/riders, there's no regret about "sitting out" or avoiding the delirious hype.
Make no mistake about it. As currently discussed in IRC, tens of thousands of workers at Microsoft are already being asked to leave. It's just a question of cost (Microsoft tries to lower the cost of the layoffs; there's no "opt-out" as layoffs will follow).
The crisis of Microsoft is years-old. The company started with the "hey hi" hype (rebranding things as "hey hi", then paying the media to participate in chatbot hype using FOMO) around 2020. There was nothing new to show, just a giant waste of energy and no business model at all.
Now the chicken come home to roost. Richard Stallman was right.
Once many of the so-called 'hey hi' giants pull the plugs on their loss-making slop "factories" a lot of addicts of slop will be left in a limbo. Slopfarms (plagiarism hubs), for instance, will become untenable.
The world will outlast Microsoft and human civilisation will be better off without GAFAM slop. █
