Slopwatch: Google News, LinuxSecurity, LinuxBSDos.com, and Garbage From Brian Fagioli

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Aug 16, 2025

Today we have a number of new specimens of LLM slop, all accompanied or cushioned by slop images, which over time became somewhat of a 'signature' of fake articles (if one is too lazy to write actual text, then why would one then bother to do graphics or properly select an image?).

Search for "linux" in Google News and an hour ago it'll look like this:

linux - Google News

Not as bad as some days ago, but result #3 is this slop:

Slop or fake: Linux 6.17 Without BCachefs Due to Community Controversy

LLM slop with a creepy slop of Torvalds.

LinuxSecurity, a slopfarm of a lousy 'security' outfit, is using SEO SPAM made cheaply by LLMs:

Slop or fake: What Is a Use-After-Free (UAF) Vulnerability?

Slop images there too.

We are sad to see that LinuxBSDos.com has just doubled down on slop. Only yesterday I checked LinuxBSDos.com to see that only one time (so far) it published slop. Hours passed and then it spewed out more slop.

Slop or fake: 5 simple ways automation can improve your business’s financial operations

This slopfarm of LinuxBSDos.com isn't even covering Linux, BSD, or DOS (or OS). It's pure spam, pure junk. That's all the output in recent months.

Speaking of junk, check out the junkyard or the slopfarm of Serial Slopper (SS) Brian Fagioli:

Slop or fake: GNOME 49 Beta lands with new apps Papers and Showtime replacing old favorites

Fake article. The following rips off originals:

Slop or fake: LibreELEC 12.2 brings improved Intel and Raspberry Pi support but drops old Nvidia GPUs

More fake garbage from him:

Slop or fake: Canonical brings certified Ubuntu Linux to Qualcomm Dragonwing processors for edge AI innovation

So nowadays when people search the Web or when one researches some topic (looking not just for news in Google News) one is increasingly likely to land on a fake 'article' spewed out by some Microsoft LLM.
