Vacation and Trips Too
In July I took the missus back to Northern California. We like the PNW and NorCal best for vacations. We flew into the Eureka/Arcata airport and stayed at a hotel adjacent to that airport. We went to the Avenue of Giants the first day. We had wanted to do that last year when we stayed in Klamath, but it didn't work out.
The second day was a trip of a different type. I brought two psyocybin chocolate bars and two bags of 300mg shrrom gummies with us. I gave my wife a chocolate bar which contained 5g of albino penis envy shroom. I ate one as well, along with 8 or so gummies. Now, my wife cannot do sweets first thing in the morning, so this was not pleasant for her. She got sick and started to have a bad trip. "I hate this! The other times everything was soft, and kind, and loving. Everything is hard and jagged and mean!"

decadence
I move from complete decadence to complete simplicity
Sex, drugs, booze, sleepless nights then a few days later, yoga, mantra, good sleep, writing...

Permacomputing looks interesting
My laptop is my youngest main machine and it's over 10 years old now, as I just realized. I bought it in March 2015. My tower PC is from 2013. Both are still running fine. I've long left the "upgrade treadmill", be- cause I don't do gaming anymore, at least not like I used to. And in general, computers don't get that much faster anymore. This has clearly slowed down.
This brings up the question: Do I even need to upgrade *at all*?
I should probably add a USB 3 controller soon. But other than that?
As I understand it, permacomputing is about much more than not upgrad- ing. Among other things, it's also about repairing existing hardware and, when buying new stuff, chosing things that you actually can repair. I guess that would be difficult with the equipment that I currently have. I can certainly replace some items, but if there was some actual damage that required soldering, then oof, that would be tough. Finding the culprit in the first place and then finding the correct information on what to replace it *with*...

hi
I've never posted on here but I used to check it daily just to read people's obscure posts, though recently I haven't been doing so.
I don't have anything to say, really. I have not been doing well recently, which tends to lead me to scouring the smallweb late at night.
