Earlier this year we saw GNU/Linux measured at 3.59% in Sierra Leone, a country in western Africa.

Sierra Leone isn't a very rich country (to say the least), but it's better off than some of its neighbours, especially in the Saharan or Sahel region.
That Sierra Leone is moving to Android (people there go "on-line" owing to skinnerboxes) disproves the utterly dumb claim that we're seeing the "end of the smartphone era". This claim comes from an infamous eugenicist (i.e. racist) who likes to pretend that he speaks for Africans because he is experimenting on them (for profit). █
