Microsoft-Funded Lawsuits Against Critics of UEFI 'Secure Boot'

Two more days (ET) till "UEFI 9/11"*

One day I plan to publish a very detailed timeline of the abuse I've received for criticising UEFI 'secure boot' (now isn't the best time because I submitted the matter to the Court, so we'll wait for the case to finish [1, 2]). In a couple of days from now (it's now 9/9/2025 in the US eastern coast) we'll gradually see reports of people who cannot access their GNU/Linux systems, basically obstructed by Microsoft through an expired certificate (an artificial barrier).

Last year we published "Comparing U.E.F.I. to B.I.O.S. (Bloat and Insecurity to K.I.S.S.)". One month later we got SLAPPed and 6 months later Microsoft money emerged in the SLAPP - not something that the law firm ever denied (instead it resorted to name-calling) and now it's confirmed by the perpetrators [1, 2] that a third party is paying the law firm to attack my wife and I.

If this sounds like a terrible tactic that is assured to backfire, then we cannot disagree. Over time the backfiring will become more apparent, especially once the case is closed. In light of recent developments the matter was again escalated in the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). That was yesterday afternoon. It's possible that a law firm will be struck off or made insolvent, for reasons we'll explain in the future. Remember that no company (or law firm) ever survives collaborations with Microsoft.
