Breaking Your Proprietary Router in the Name of "Security"
Proprietary software is an unpleasant surprise. You might be satisfied with how it works today, but not tomorrow... or next year. You've simply lost control.
I wrote about this topic before in relation to other (prior) router updates by BT (published videos also), installed without notice and followed by a reboot they don't tell you about (they could, but they won't).
Each time they "patch" the router something that previously worked OK is likely to just break, causing a lot of trouble, then necessitating a workaround, at least until the next update which will 'fix' the issue (while breaking other stuff).
In the name of "Security"... from companies that actively work to undermine security so that they can remotely access almost everything. █
