Chris “Microsoft” Pirillo (Microsoft MVP) on Antitrust Settlement

Posted in America, Antitrust, FUD, Microsoft, Videos at 5:23 pm by Dr. Roy Schestowitz

That’s the type of loyalism Microsoft money (and brainwash) can buy.

Here is one obedient mouthpiece

It needn’t make you wonder why Chris is now living in Seattle. Paid-for, self-praising analysis is nothing out of the ordinary at Microsoft. Those whose career is dependent on Microsoft will be protective of that company unconditionally.

If you want to know the truth about Iowa, start here. That’s where you’ll find what Microsoft tried to hide as quickly as possible when decided to settle.

It continues to disturb how those who are paid by Microsoft strive to change public perception and rewrite history. This is just one such examples that was put online a few days ago and reached a large audience. It’s posted here only in the spirit of FUD fighting (putting things in context, not FUD spreading.

    You’re an idiot. ;)

Obviously, never having seen my Vista reviews and recommendations… look beyond a single video, can we?

Chris, you know that I’ve cited and mentioned you many times before (usually in a positive context). We also spoke on the WordPress hackers list, but objective views on software and products are significantly different from behaviour in the industry. It also happens to be what this site is primarily about.

I am by no means new to any of this and I suspect that you are missing the big picture. I can’t help losing respect for you after watching that video which mocks dumb|Iowa consumers (it makes the two synonymous). I thought you were far better than that. I know you are. :-)

…Never mind a blind pardon to a company which runs governments behind the scenes, rewrites laws, and resorts to what’s known as ‘patent terrorism’ in the face of risk.

Yeah, well… I still call it political posturing, and the only people who benefited from this (as is the case for many class actions) are the lawyers.

I’d take less issue with your assertion if you also linked to my near hour-long rant on Vista… or any one of my Vista BSOD videos. My career is not alive because Microsoft does or does not support me.

You paint me as an all-out apologist, but… my track record proves just the opposite. At least give folks access to my track record so they can decide for themselves.

Ask Ed Bott if he’d consider me a Windows or Microsoft apologist. I dare you. :)

This I totally agree with you on. The action taken to penalise for abuses (never mind prevention) should have been entirely different. The gain of the lawyers is also something which characterises battles of intellectual monopolies (also known as patent).

Regarding Vista, I’ve seen heaps of your material on this. That’s why I still respect you, no matter the damage done by not acknowledging well-documented abuses of power and even technical sabotage.

About Ed Bought [sic] (or even his colleague George Ou), I’m just glad you’re not like them. They are like Microsoft’s PR frontline, attacking everything or anyone that questions the hype. As you’re probably aware by now, I consider hype/marketing/vapourware(promises) to subtle forms of lies. Just watch Jeff Jones doing gymnatics with statistics or Gartner and IDC producing Microsoft-funded studies without disclosure about the commissioner. Bill Gates is among their corporate investors by the way.

To say more on lies and spin, look at ‘trusted’ computing, ‘genuine’ ‘advantage’, ‘Vista-capable’ and ‘enablement’ features. That’s just Orwelian. Microsoft, for instance, also calls bribery “marketing help” (in the recent Nigeria incident) and “shilling” (paid-for astroturfing) it calls “evangelism”.

Microsoft will continue to have to earn its respect. Given its shady past, it might never earn any, but it buys plenty (in the form of brainwash through media and corporate acquisitions).

Lastly, in reference to Jim Zemlin’s remark about “respecting Microsoft”, one must remember that Microsoft is not Windows and Windows is not Microsoft.

The world should be very frightened…

I apologise for this post of mine. It seems to be venting the anger in the wrong direction. As the cross-citations show (if you follow them), it’s a few rotten apples who are responsible for this, just as the video followup — that one which responds to yours — has already suggested (I presume you’ve watched it already).

  5. 3 Months to Progress Pension Fraud Investigations in the United Kingdom

Based on our experiences and findings, one simply cannot rely on pension providers to take fraud seriously (we’ve been working as a group on this); all they want is the money and risk does not seem to bother them, even when there’s an actual crime associated with pension-related activities

  6. 36,000 Soon

Techrights is still growing; in WordPress alone (not the entire site) we’re fast approaching 36,000 posts; in Gemini it’s almost 45,500 pages and our IRC community turns 15 soon

  7. Contrary to What Bribed (by Microsoft) Media Keeps Saying, Bing is in a Freefall and Bing Staff is Being Laid Off (No, Chatbots Are Not Search and Do Not Substitute Web Pages!)

Chatbots/chaffbot media noise (chaff) needs to be disregarded; Microsoft has no solid search strategy, just lots and lots of layoffs that never end this year (Microsoft distracts shareholders with chaffbot hype/vapourware each time a wave of layoffs starts, giving financial incentives for publishers to not even mention these; right now it’s GitHub again, with NDAs signed to hide that it is happening)

Another round of GitHub layoffs (not the first [1, 2]; won’t be the last) and many more Microsoft layoffs; this isn’t related to the numbers disclosed by Microsoft back in January, but Microsoft uses or misuses NDAs to hide what’s truly going on

  11. All of Microsoft's Strategic Areas Have Layoffs This Year

Microsoft’s supposedly strategic/future areas — gaming (trying to debt-load or offload debt to other companies), so-called ‘security’, “clown computing” (Azure), and “Hey Hi” (chaffbots etc.) — have all had layoffs this year; it’s clear that the company is having a serious existential crisis in spite of Trump’s and Biden’s bailouts (a wave of layoffs every month this year) and is just bluffing/stuffing the media with chaffbots cruft (puff pieces/misinformation) to keep shareholders distracted, asking them for patience and faking demand for the chaffbots (whilst laying off Bing staff, too)

A “society of sheeple” (a term used by Richard Stallman last week in his speech) is being “herded” online and offline; the video covers examples both online and offline, the latter being absence of ATMs or lack of properly-functioning ATMs (a growing problem lately, at least where I live)

  29. The Corporate Media is Not Reporting Large-Scale Microsoft Layoffs (Too Busy With Chaffbot Puff Pieces), Leaks Required to Prove That More Layoffs Are Happening

Just as we noted days ago, there are yet more Microsoft layoffs, but the mainstream media gets bribed to go “gaga” over vapourware and chaffbots (making chaff like “Bill Gates Says” pieces) instead of reporting actual news about Microsoft
