The EPO Uses Appraisals to Force Staff to Illegally Grant European Patents or Lose the Job. The Matter is Being Escalated en Masse to ILO-AT, Requesting a Review of Appraisal Reports.

ABOUT a month ago at the General Assembly the grossly understaffed EPO passed a resolution (Munich and The Hague) regarding patent quality.
In that General Assembly the appraisals were also discussed using the following slides:
As a reminder, or as said here a year ago: "Under the guise of appraisal/assessment/performance reports EPO management probably tries to bully staff into patent maximalism rather than adherence to the EPC." European software patents are being granted, more so under António Campinos than under Benoît Battistelli. So it is only getting worse over time. The world deserves to know what really happens inside the EPO.
ILO-AT typically does not solve issues, instead resorting to formalities to "wash its hands". █
