What IBM Meant to Red Hat: "Proprietary Bundling, Restricted Source Access"
14 minutes ago in response to the acquisition of Confluent, which seems to already result in mass layoffs [1, 2, 3]:

To IBM, Red Hat is about money, not freedom or customers or community etc. Money how? Increase prices, remove 'discounts' or 'freebies' (e.g. CentOS), reduce costs (i.e. salaries, staff, sponsorships).
This is what Broadcom did when shortly after it took over VMware.
People who have some romanticised version of IBM inside their heads (maybe because they, like me, grew up with a lot of IBM everywhere) need to understand that IBM is a dying company that has likely cooked the books for many years already.
Anyone or anything that joins IBM likely shortens its lifespan. █
