Massive, Cross-Site Strike at the EPO Today
March 30, 2026: Today, Europe's Second-Largest Institution (EPO) Goes on Strike That Can Last Until 2027. Nobody in the Media Covers This!

Yesterday we commented on SUEPO The Hague's plan for strikes. They happen any day of the week for the foreseeable future.

This can go on until the end of this year, maybe next year too.
"Action Plan 2026 continues to stop the salary erosion of EPO staff," SUEPO Munich said a couple of days ago. The Local Staff Committee Munich sent out this communication about "Friday 17 April" (today) being a day of strike in Munich. To quote:
Weeks of 13 April to 24 April: Work-To-Rule continues, and Strike on Friday 17 April, Monday 20 April and Friday 24 April
Dear SUEPO members,
Dear Colleagues,The President still plans a further erosion of EPO salaries, pensions and other benefits estimated at –1% per year below the evolution of costs of living without any financial justification.
In the sixth technical meeting on the topic, the Office introduced a “high inflation clause” capping salary adjustments if Eurozone inflation is above 6%. In addition, PD4.3 went beyond the orientations of the Administrative Council by abolishing any obligation for the Office to take due account of recommendations by the Co-ordinating Committee of Government Budget Experts. They said: “The Office is free to whatever it wants without any guidance.”
Therefore, the SUEPO Munich Action Plan 2026 adopted on 19 January continues with
- Work-To-Rule actions
- Days of strike on Friday 17 April, Monday 20 April and Friday 24 April
- Two days of strike per week (Mondays and Fridays) in April, May and June
For your information, SUEPO The Hague has declared Monday 20 April as an “anchor day” for a maximum number to strike.
That last sentence (above) refers to what we covered last night. There's coordination across sites for maximal pressure. █
