Microsoft Offers People 'Retirements' (Again) to Fake (Artificially Lower) Number of Layoffs, Those People Are Nowhere Near Retirement Age

According to this report (the XBox story is fast-developing), now we hear that "Xbox employees [are] offered Microsoft's first-ever retirement program amid studio closures" (remember that "retirement" can be for someone in his or her 40s, so this term is misplaced/misused).
"Microsoft and Xbox are offering employees a 'retirement program'," it says, "following three studio closures and widespread layoffs at the publisher."
Suppose those people began working in technology 10 years ago and now have a family, including kids. Can they retire? Who is Microsoft kidding?
In an economy like this, there's no guarantee they will find another job, either. The news tells us about "trillionaires", but don't be easily deceived. Even if you get crooked friends to pretend your company that LOSES money is somehow "worth" trillions, it does not make it so. That just makes a bunch of friends who are building a pyramid scheme. Why does Wall Street tolerate this obvious scam that is doomed to destroy the real economy?
Anyway, the real news is that Microsoft implicitly affirms huge cuts are coming; it wants to pretend the numbers are lower by convincing people to "leave". █
