Removing Gender Barriers in Computer Science
My wife has a degree in Computer Science (CS), which she got back in the 1990s. In recent years she (and even my mom!) got attacked by an aggressive man online. She reported this to the police, but the local police said she'd need to report the same to cops in America.
When people moan and groan that women are "not interested in CS" or some other myth (which in turn repels women from even expressing such an interest, let alone pursuing it) I have to weigh in and say that this is not the real issue. Gender "territorial-ism" isn't just a man's thing (in some occupations men are made to feel unwelcome by colleagues/peers who are mostly women). But we need to acknowledge that such a problem does exist, then tackle it effectively and firmly.
It is not that "women aren't good at maths"; it's often about men who are hostile towards women, especially in high-salary occupations/sectors. █
