  Well, this has nothing to do with the MS agreement or patents so does not fit the purpose of your site.
  
  To me this look like a shop that's just very happy with Oracle, in which they had already invested quite a lot and made the (political) decision to expand that relationship.
  
  There quite some huge customers out there that run IDM solutions from Novell which are happy with that. You win some, you lose some.

  Anything we can do to weaken Novell or pressure it to escape its mistake seems suitable. Some say that this would make Novell even more Microsoft-dependent, but then again, it's bound to happen anyway. Better have a small Microsoft partner than a big Trojan horse inside your city (or a camel in the tent).

  True, but Novell will only tell you about the wins. It fools people, who might choose Novell. I intend to publish a long item that shows how Microsoft and Novell market themselves (SUSE coupons). It's revealing and ugly.

  And who does not do that? Does MS tell us when they loose a customer to Linux or does the community/Red Hat/Novell or any other tell it when they loose business to MS. No they don't, cause it's just not relevant. Everybody markets its strong points and successes as it should be. Weak points are shown by having competition.

  That's what I do in other fora. Microsoft has a very tight grip on the media. Novell also, to an extent. Microsoft now helps Novell as far as self-serving publicity is concerned (more on that soon).

  So? Now you're the only one promoting Linux by telling the world that MS also looses customers? Think you frequently take things out of context and use it to bend it to for your purpose. Would be more interesting why you expect especially Novell to tell all of us about losing a customer or a fight for a deal, while no one else out there does that kind of thing. That has nothing to do with misinforming customers. Also you yourself do it all the time, like "Aeronautical University Thinks Novell is No Good" and with "Novell is losing another customer", that' s taking thing out of context when putting it on a website where you promote the boycott Novell for the Novell-MS interoperability deal. Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but linking information that way is also misinforming people.

  Any large organization or company has that. Why was the article on Oracle 'winning' the race over an IDM solution put there? Cause it somehow made sense to inform people about that. So, having competition leaves room to exploit each others weaknesses.

  To use actual examples, my problem is not with lost business, but it is with deception. Novell neglects to tell the media about coupons, for example. As for Microsoft, one example would be "channel-stuffing". They shove many XBox360s, Zunes, Vistas, and Offices into the channel (at the expense of the shops) and then claim a lot of sales (which are actually products in the warehouse/shelves).

  And we haven't even gotten into the "legalities" of dumping yet, for example the $3 Vista/Office bundles in China. Which would be illegal, as I understand it, for any company in the US except for MS. Of course, IANAL, and am open for (intelligent) correction on that, but I think it would also make a nice subject for a post, Roy (or I could contribute some of my links and thoughts if you'd like).
