Required Reading: Mental State of Team Battistelli/Campinos

Career-climbing nihilists or something more profound and even sinister?

A sick EPO

Summary: On the heels of yesterday's article about Team Battistelli/Campinos, here are some recommended/required papers on the problem which likely plagues the Office

THE more we speak to readers (and we often don't quote them because it can give away their identities), the more we realise that leadership at the European Patent Office (EPO) is full of sociopaths. People are rewarded not for their skills or their compassion but for compatibility with sociopaths who already occupy top positions at the Office. Nothing illustrates this better than ENA graduate Battistelli and his friend Campinos, who is incapable of empathy but perfectly capable of emulating it (story-telling and PR).

More: The backstabber. Do you have a sociopath in your workplace?

“People were chatting all around but all backs turned to him [Battistelli]. He looked extremely alone, almost like a leper and maybe he also felt so. His body language showed enough: hunchbacked and looking down, avoiding eye contact with his staff.”
