Summary: Projects that promise us privacy but take money (and sometimes staff) from Facebook and Google are sending or beaming the wrong signal

WE RECENTLY took note of Nettle and Sequioa as encryption substitutes, seeing that GnuPG, which is based in Germany and is now Facebook-funded, tried to get Richard Stallman ousted from the GNU Project (the GNU in "GnuPG"), which he had founded more than 3.5 decades earlier.

"Privacy/security/encryption is all about trust; those whom we cannot trust aren't worthy of our support."The above video discusses some of the latest changes in Mozilla Thunderbird and worrying developments surrounding Mozilla in general (including hirings from Facebook and Microsoft entering Mozilla's Board).
