[Meme] [Teaser] EPO Makes Staff Miserable to Death

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Mar 20, 2024

We've had many whistleblowers from Microsoft too.

Abused at work? Tell us your story

Later today we'll re-publish (or take public) an internal EPO publication. It seems like the EPO's management learned nothing from its "suicide wave" (people jumping to their death from windows). It's continuing to besiege and oppress its own staff. I wrote about it a day ago. As someone who also worked since adolescent years, I know what a terrible job can be like. If feasible, one should leave.

Just to be very clear, people who write about the topic of suicide aren't contemplating suicide. We've seen EPO staff demonised as "suicidal" (especially those who confronted the management) and we see similar smears being spread about Daniel Pocock. Never deduce that people who speak about depression or suicide are themselves depressed or suicidal. It's a demonstrably false presumption of causality. Just because many people speak about depression or suicide before killing themselves does not imply those who write about the subject of depression or suicide have a personal interest. Speaking for myself, on a scale of 1 to 10 I'd rank my happiness at 9. That does not mean I'd shy away from writing about depressed or suicidal people.

From what I can gather, based on private conversations, current and past (yes, past!) EPO staff is very unhappy. The media barely talks about it. The authorities cover up this stuff. The EPO mentally and physically injured thousands of people. Who's gonna speak out for them?
