GNU/Linux Activity in Belize
I recognise that many people have never heard of Belize, so a Public Domain map is included on the left (as always, click to view in full size). The country has population of less than half a million, but it's not small (it is "about 32 times bigger than Singapore" - a city-state with a population about 10 times bigger).
Having just checked statCounter data on Belize, it's curiosity-inspiring that GNU/Linux is sort of "flaring up" in that region and with Windows down below 20% it seems safe to say that Microsoft has something to worry about.
From an economic point of view, Microsoft needn't worry about Belize, but when it comes to preserving the Windows monopoly/monoculture Belize matters.
Using a search engine, it's hard to find information about GNU/Linux in Belize and even job openings that are "in date". Then again, Belize does not speak English, so searches in English won't yield much. █
