Winning Defamation Cases is Incredibly Difficult (for Plaintiffs), Even in the United States and the United Kingdom
TODAY we would like to reiterate our position on SLAPP action [1, 2].
Techrights and its sister site (now over 20 years old) were never censored and that's not going to change.
Worse yet, any attempt to censor Techrights (or other sites) will result in more speech, not less speech.
Techrights was always highly principled about free speech and, as its name suggests, it is fully aware of its rights. In 2015 the corrupt EPO "had a go at it" and it "got its arse handed to it". It never tried again (it has been nearly a decade). As a result of these failed attempts (it even tried several different laws firms) we devoted even more time and energy to EPO coverage. SLAPP should always backfire.
Our motto is Bonum Certa Men Certa (Latin) and we mean it 100%. █
