Windows Down to Unprecedented Low in Czech Republic, Android Rises to New Record
TODAY we look at the Czech Republic, where lots of GNU/Linux development happens. We could write about 3% for GNU/Linux on the desktops (or laptops), but this facet is more interesting this month. From 98% in July 2009 (15 years ago) Windows is down to all-time low of 38% and well below Android, for the first time (considerable gap). Android has reached a new high (43%), i.e. about 5% above Windows.
The way things are going, most countries will see Windows at below 10% "market share" within a few years. It is like a "legacy" OS. Harping about "AI" isn't going to change that, but it can delay or temporarily postpone the inevitable abandonment by shareholders. █
