    1. Eric is walking! He is our earliest walker. It's kind of strange, almost comical, to see a nine month old baby walking around.

    He also blows raspberries, plays peek-a-boo, and is great at throwing all his food on the floor. He's at that age where he needs a clean outfit and the floor needs mopping after every meal. I put a bib on him, sometimes, but it feels sort of like trying to use a hanky as a dropcloth when you're painting a house.

  • Day 2 of the 2024 Old Computer Challenge

    It being a Monday, I spent most of today at work, so it didn't matter that I was using a modern computer. I did bend the rules slightly by using it to check that the blogpost I made yesterday was properly viewable though.

    I was out and about doing errands and saw a Lamps Plus. I hadn’t been in one for about three decades, so I decided to drop in and have a look around.

    …it wasn’t as warm inside as I remember. I guess LEDs finally came into their own and aren’t just for red/amber/green lights like the last time I came in.

  • One Page Dungeon Contest

    I submitted an entry for the One Page Dungeon Contest. Since I would like the dungeons to be close to the prep I do for my own games so that I feel like I belong to a community of referees that spends a similar amount of time for their adventures I took some of my (German) prep notes, cleaned them up and added some text boxes using Inskape and decided against spending time on polishing it up.

      Complaining about a double standard has never done anything to eliminate it. The only thing that works is taking one side’s power away until they can’t get away with it anymore. In the meantime, something that you can do for the health of any community in which you’re a part, and to help shift the balance of power a tiny bit, is to waste no time in telling assholes to go pound sand.
