Rumour: More Layoffs on the Way at IBM (Maybe Next Week)
This just came through minutes ago:
In text: "Palo deal closes on Aug 30/31. The chances for RAs occuring go up higher each day from that point. My money is on 2nd or 3rd Week of Sept. From reading between the lines in my last one on one with my manager, a tentative list has already been made."
There's still a lot of discussion there about what happened in China days ago. Are salaries being halved?
There are also active discussions about retirements, e.g. [1, 2, 3] (all updated hours ago).
IBM is a house of cards. Insiders know so and say so. Many simply leave, so IBM won't count them as layoffs. Sometimes it'll just replace those who were essential (with people salaried a lot less for a lot more work).
