creating our own reality
We create our own reality.
This is a very simple affirmation. It's often met with a "Ya, ya I get it" but we simply don't, and most of our life we probably just can't.
We're in a dream, and until we wake up, we can't see it's a dream.
With my ex, I was always under the impression she was sad and unsatisfied. Not only I would see and feel it, she would express it too. In a couple, you become 2 entity creating 2 colliding reality. There is always a thug of war between the 2 camps.

shaking the Summertime Sadness, yearning for Pale September

It's ~100F right now. I am inside, avoiding sweat. having coffee as AC is running beautifully.

up and about
Last week you couldn't stop me, I dug and I planted, I built and I cut weeds. This week, you couldn't get me to move, opting instead for reading yijing commentaries and pondering over what's worth learning. Well, the week is young, so hopefully I may get some momentum going soon. I want to think I am following the dao of my own bodily function. However, the chickens still need their house finished, the half-dug hole for the toilet compost sits there waiting to be finished so I can continue with my work. The canals I started digging also want to be finished soon, and the weeds keep growing with each passing rain.

the ego issue
people think, assume, presume, that I have a semblance of DEPTH - a mind, full of ideas and philosophies and Thoughts That Matter(tm). No. I am shallow as a puddle of piss. I say that plainly, and get greeted with a chorus of "oh it oook, a yummy pup will wup your tummy" or some other consoling shit from so and so, wherever (generally of the depressive/pathetic varietal).

Move and OTR
The last month or so was rough with the long-distance move, but we're slowly settling in to a new house in a new province, and are content to not move again for the foreseeable future. This was the longest move we've ever done - 13 hours by car - but not the most difficult, which would have been our move to Canada from the States. Moving to another country is one of those once-in-a-lifetime things, or at least it should be. If you're already a citizen of the country you are moving to and alone, it's not too bad, but throw a family of non-citizens into the mix, and it gets complicated quickly.
For this move, I had to drive out a few days ahead of my wife. One of the things that kept me company on the 13-hour drive (aside from caffeine) was old-time radio. I had files downloaded and playlists setup on my phone so I could listen for hours without too much fuss. One of them was 'Adventures by Morse' [0], a 1940's vintage adventure show. Most of the old shows are available on archive.org, and the best recordings have been preserved and uploaded by the "Old Time Radio Researchers Group" [1].

Subsidized gasoline
In the EU we were mixing bio fuels into gasoline and diesel.
Which was a li’l bit more expensive.
So here in Sweden, the right-wing gov’t decided to lower those proportions, down to 6%.
That led to increased emissions by 4 million metric tons per year, the equivalent of one Nord Stream explosion every four years (or every three and a half years, even).
Now, they wanna raise it again to 10%, which, even though that is just a third of what we used to have, still would be a atep in the right direction. Except they’re also gonna subsidize the fuels to keep costs the same. That means free money for fossil corporations.

Retrospring Shutting Down
Saw when checking in on my small web things that Retrospring (a free Q&A site) is shutting down March of next year, after almost ten years. That doesn't feel like the longest amount of time, but if I were framing it in early-web years, it would be an eternity.
I'm a little sad: as they said on their shutdown page, they were never a company, just a partnership of two people. And rather than selling, and not being able to guarantee what the new owners will do with the data, they're shutting down, and giving a solid eight months of notice, so people can find alternative solutions.
