In Some Countries the Largest OEMs Already Dump Microsoft Windows
Last month there were media reports about Huawei dropping Windows and this week we see reports about GNU/Linux laptops from Huawei (cheaper than Windows), as expected. There's probably more on that to come (in English, not Mandarin). Judging by statCounter, in Asia Android is now 3+ times bigger than Windows (among Web users).
Windows at 18.9%, Android 60.2%. Microsoft has a ton of layoffs in China this year and Microsoft Copilot is measured at a negligible 0.1% there because Chinese users aren't dumb enough to broadcast things to Microsoft.
Expect an eventful year for Windows. The Linux Foundation won't talk about Vista 10 becoming "dead"; it won't promote GNU/Linux. But we can. █
