The Free Software Foundation (FSF) Has Chosen PeerTube
For those who don't know, PeerTube is Free software for distributed storage and transmission of videos (multimedia over the Web). PeerTube, unlike LBRY or Odysee, isn't some "get rich" scheme of 'crypto' "bros".
With Invidious being on the verge, some people look for alternatives (that aren't dependent on YouTube being accessible to them).
Some people look to the FSF for advice. The Free Software Foundation prioritises Software Freedom (duh! It's in the name!) and its founder emphasises self-hosting (revisit last month's speech; he said this several times), so consider using your own (or a shared but trusted) instance of PeerTube.
The FSF chose to trust https://framatube.org/ and has a channel at https://framatube.org/c/fsf_channel/videos
It says at the bottom "powered by PeerTube". Here's a recent talk about self-hosting (53min 45sec, LibrePlanet 2024).
The FSF also uses MediaGoblin, where the same talk is available as a WebM file. █
