Always Doing This Site for Principles, Not Money
Pro bono
Things have been going really well lately. After months of uptime we decided to upgrade the IRC daemon (among other things) and then reboot. Well, after the reboot we got back to same old user count (people online), traffic remained about 50-60% higher than normal (Streisand Effect), and we fully exercise our free speech rights (a liberating feeling!), having put an end to threats from the Serial Strangler from Microsoft (who sent threats at least 4 times since October after his begging had repeatedly failed). Extortion artists have limited shelf life. It's a dark art.
This site was always pro bono and it will never change. The fact that we've gotten under the skin of Microsofters is quite revealing though. It also helps us identify which topics to press even harder.
What were they hoping to accomplish anyway? it was doomed to fail right from the very start. █
