We Don't Do JavaScript and Pages Are Small
Earlier today I made a few suggestions for the FSF's site, seeing that some pages demanded a download of about 10MB of files (just for some text and small images). Images are perfectly OK, but there should typically be a smaller version of them available.
The problem is not an uncommon one. Sometimes frameworks are to blame. To quote one example: "Wix is a well-known website builder, but it’s notorious for generating heavy and sluggish websites. Its reliance on JavaScript and the numerous plugins available can weigh down your site’s performance, leading to frustratingly long loading times."
WordPress is already bloated (both at the back end and the user end), but Wix takes WordPress bloat to another level and ruins the Web, wastes batteries, wastes people's time etc.
We don't intend to add any JavaScript. We just simply don't need JavaScript. Almost no site actually needs JavaScript. Its creator may be proud of it (even if he opposed Pride), but it didn't improve as much as it harmed. Thankfully Gemini Protocol has nothing like JavaScript. █
