After the Web Becomes Slopped to Death
In less than two days from now Gemini Protocol turns 6 and, as we said yesterday and the day before that: "Active (online) Gemini capsules are estimated by Lupa at over 3,000 (Lupa knows of 3,053) and this upcoming anniversary marks a number of new highs."
It's now measured at 3,054 and we see a growth in the number of active users, not just hosts. In the past 3 days we served close to half a million requests - that's about 10 times the size of the entire capsule.
Gemini Protocol is considered mature enough for its existence to be secured and for gemini://
to be in active use for another 6 years (more a decade to come). It fills a gap and meets a need. A lot of people are rightly fed up with the "modern" Web. "Zuckerberg’s Grand Vision" is a self-serving vision (or delusion like "metaverse") where people read what bots say instead of what other people say. The simple truth is, people are quickly losing interest once they realise they read some 'botchaff'. █
