Techrights Pursues Justice and Truth Because, Without Those, Society Descends Into Chaos
A month from now it'll be 19 years since we began this site. It's not 20, but it's a year short and still a time to reflect. This past weekend we wrote a lot about software patents. Techrights started in 2006 by focusing on the patent deal signed by Microsoft and Novell. It was horrendous. Everything we had claimed about it turned out to be true. A few years later Novell ceased to exist.
There's a huge difference between law and lawfare. The latter is what patent trolls do. We wrote a great deal about many patent trolls and some of them issued empty threats to us. They really hate sunlight. They don't want facts because from facts comes some kind of justice. To they try to silence critics.
We're proud to say that after 19 years of this site and 21.5 years of the sister site (about 40+ years in total, combined) we can say we never censor anything. We're independent and robust to trolls, including patent trolls.
Techrights is what it is because it covers topics nobody else touches or wants to touch. That's not going to change any time soon.
Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was tormented for explaining how the Solar System worked. Many years later (centuries) people still remember Galileo. Because most people reject dogma and pseudoscience. █
