When NASA revealed that Microsoft Outlook was used in a craft it wasn't a Microsoft ad. Rather, it was a neat way to humiliate Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Windows.
After what happened in ISS (they moved from Windows to GNU/Linux after that) it's surprising that NASA uses Microsoft software anywhere (at all) in its operation. Microsoft has sloppy code, it's not something suitable for mission-critical things. █
