Demonstration Next Week at the European Patent Office (EPO), Administrative Council Seen as Complicit

Europe's second-largest institution, the European Patent Office, is on strike, there are various industrial actions that may intensify further, and next Tuesday there's a demonstration. Staff will probably gather by the thousands. Those who are not in Munich might 'join' virtually.
Quoting SUEPO Munich this week:
Invitation to all staff - Demonstration on Tuesday 30 June, 12.30 hrs, Isar building with live stream
Action Plan 2026 continues to stop the salary erosion of EPO staff
Dear SUEPO members,
Dear Colleagues,
Mr Campinos maintains his proposal for a new salary adjustment procedure eroding the salaries, pensions and benefits of EPO staff. Despite the flaws in the proposal which foresees no end in the erosion, the delegates in the Budget and Finance Committee meeting of 20 and 21 May nevertheless gave a positive opinion and intend to adopt the final proposal in the Administrative Council meeting of 30 June and 1 July.
Later this year, the Administrative Council will meet on 13 and 14 October to decide on the re-election of Mr Campinos for a third mandate. The new salary erosion procedure is part of his strategy to obtain the necessary support from the delegates. Read more in these slides.
Therefore, the SUEPO Munich Action Plan has intensified with
Work-To-Rule actions
All week days are days of “rolling strike” where staff is free to strike
Demonstration on Tuesday 30 June at 12.30 hrs in front of the Isar building with a live stream for other places of employment showing organizers and speakers. Attendees' faces will not be streamed or recorded.
If this is what they do when all indicators are green, what will they do when they are red?!
They cannot ignore us if we stand together
Ahead of that day we'll carry on with our series and remind European readers to contact their national delegates. Corruption in Europe hurts all of us. █
