    It's sunny this weekend, so like a coiled spring I've been let loose attempting all sorts of things on my weekend to-do list in a rush, and stuffing most of them up.

    The worst stuff up was at the end of yesterday when, having yet again postponed replacing my repaired fuel tank in my 'new' (old) Jag since now it's got bogged inside the flooding shed, I set to work on my trailer instead. It came from my uncle who died, and was originally my great grandfather's. I've decided I want to turn it into a DIY camper trailer so I can holiday without the hassle of trying to find cheap hotels/motels and trying to cram too many activities into short stays.

    First job was just to get it up on blocks with the wheels off to get the tyres replaced (the old crossply ones it has are cracking apart), as well as check the wheel bearings where I was told one might be broken.

    Several weeks ago I saw my doctor for my annual physical. Thus far into middle age I have been blessed with generally good health, and for the past many years my exams have mostly resulted in routine lab follow-ups that haven't yielded any particular concerns.

  • Comparing my C16 CPU to Intel CPU opcodes

    I wrote a simple version of the Celeste game for my C16 CPU and then wrote the same program in Intel assembly.

    My celeste implementation likely doesn't work, only the clouds and snow are working. There are bugs, probably integer overflows (pico8 uses fixed point 16 numbers, 1 * 2 overflows 32bit registers) and the program is large (more than 3000 lines with comments, there are lots of comments because just reading the code it is difficult to know what is going on since there are many registers).
