neighborleeI just thought it was interesting ( though thread closed yes in 2/2008) , that this polll indicates that more ubuntu users want mono gone than want to keep it..I hadn't realzed it had become that far removed from  a 50/50 split....but I suppose its still going to be there unless intrepid has changed something I am not aware of...I guess http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/mono-runtime < shows mono is still to be left in and that 'oSep 26 01:40
neighborleepen source' is still being applied as if it were the truth o_0Sep 26 01:40
neighborleehttps://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+so... < and here it seems.,'directhex' is saying though mono releases are slightly...unready..releases that need a HUGE # of patches, mono remains inside ubuntu..I wonder who is doing all these patches considering ubuntu makes very few upstream commits to other mainstream linux projects...Sep 26 01:41

twitterSweaty B smiles on Portable Ubuntu and other captured GNU/Linux - he thinks M$ has outsmarted free software that way.Sep 28 15:19
twitterLive CDs are better.  Windows people are used to rebooting all the time anyway.Sep 28 15:20
twitterSooner or later, M$ breaks everything on their platform.Sep 28 15:22
MinceRhow exactly does that count as outsmarting?Sep 28 15:27
twitterHis idea was to make all free software run well on Windows so that no one needs GNU/Linux.Sep 28 15:36
twitterIt puts free software under the M$ tax and control.Sep 28 15:37
twitterIf what the article says about flash not running well, performance sucks too.Sep 28 15:38
twitterThere's also the waste of developer time and mind share.  Every developer that spends time Windows porting is a developer that is spending time supporting the Windows monopoly.Sep 28 15:39
twitterA better solution is to run the one or two Windoze applications you might actually need under Wine.  That way you get as much freedom and performance as you can.Sep 28 15:41
twitterSweaty Ballmer would love for everyone to think GNU/Linux is a poorly performing toy that you don't really need.Sep 28 15:44
