How We Efficiently Manage the 'Techrights HQ'

Video download link

Summary: Working remotely, as always, gives the comfort needed to manage a lot of things in conjunction; this video is a quick look-around and explanation of how various tasks/activities get spread across machines

THE SETUP here has changed a lot over time. Quite a few low-cost computers (none costing more than 200 pounds) are being connected to increase visibility of things. Some programming helps highlight what truly matters whilst avoiding spurious notifications that only contribute to clutter and distraction. A lot is being done in terminals and text files (even a Palm PDA). Everything without exception runs Free software and there's zero Microsoft (I've already deleted the malware installed covertly earlier this month on the Raspberry Pi).

"It's not limited to managing a Web site because we also have 4 IRC channels, we survey the Web for responses, we operate an IPFS node, and now we have a mirror in Gemini."This raw video, done with a cheap wired webcam, explains part of the setup (excepting the dual-head XFCE machine). At some stage it might help or be worth doing a proper screencast explaining the workflow in full, including news searching and filing/cataloguing. Each day is very busy and in order to produce 10+ posts per day (as we did last summer) much coordination is required. We're a small team and a community that interacts only over the Internet. In order to keep the momentum and withstand attacks (on character, on the site, e.g. DDOS) we need to keep track of quite a lot of things. It's not limited to managing a Web site because we also have 4 IRC channels, we survey the Web for responses, we operate an IPFS node, and now we have a mirror in Gemini. It's done 24/7.

Trump frowns Biden and God smile meme: Impeached twice; Served twice

In this age of partisan politics and divisive distractions (like which corporate party best serves one's class/identity politics) it's far too easy to lose track of really important issues, including economic policy, war/peace, sometimes even environment/climate. Social Control Media is probably the best invention for mass distraction, misdirection, incitation, and misinformation. It's a lot worse than sport. Thankfully we don't waste time on either of those things.
