Centralisation as Threat to Free Speech

THE loss of freedom of expression is a universal problem, which goes beyond the Web and the Internet. But in the digital realm there is an even worse effect if few companies or people are applying bans universally/globally/across networks.
"Fedora is discussed as an example because IBM is increasingly controlling speech and silencing communities."As Ryan has just explained (in an article we'll repost later), it's possible to lose the ability to speak or to be heard just because of one vengeful person. There's no due process or access to justice.
The bottom line is, centralised or very large networks are a threat. Therein, the "thought police" can flourish and have wide-ranging scope. Fedora is discussed as an example because IBM is increasingly controlling speech and silencing communities. ⬆
