GNU is 40, Linux is Just 32
THIS past summer, or only about a month ago, Linux turned 32. Linux relied a lot on GNU programs such as the compiler and it also depended on the GNU's licence (GPL) to succeed. That's according to Linus Torvalds, not according to us, and there's video footage to prove it.
Today it's exactly 40 years since Richard Stallman sent a message regarding GNU. He'd soon leave his job and start developing the system we now know as GNU/Linux and many just call "Linux". █
