Microsoft's Hardware Business is More or Less Dead Already (the Rest Will Follow)
DON'T look down. Layoffs are on the horizon again for Microsoft*. They just group the waves together to hide the full extent of these (tens of thousands so far this year and it shows). The reused and repurposed "Surface" brand (remember it used to be a "fat-ass table") is so dead that its chief left Microsoft some weeks ago and Microsoft killed off its peripherals, insisting at the time that these would live on under the "Surface" brand - the spin that overlooked the simple fact that the "Surface" brand itself was on its way out. Hours ago in IRC and in RSS we found reports about the bubble Microsoft has invested in. "Hey Hi" is all losses for Microsoft and some mainstream media speaks about this now. What took so long?
Microsoft is not in a good shape. Expect a lot more cuts. It is a shrinking company that resorts to accounting fraud and seeks government bailouts. Why should taxpayers subsidise such an evil, criminal company? █
