Firefox Used to Have About Half the Market in Switzerland, But It Doesn't Stand a Chance Anymore (Chrome Surging This Summer)
Mozilla is selling out Firefox users yet again, surrendering its moral high ground
BACK in the days, or almost 2 decades ago, some of the most enthusiastic proponents of Firefox (online) were Swiss, so it's easy to imagine that before Chrome came out Firefox had the majority of the "market" in Switzerland. Below we see a graph that charts the post-Chrome era (around 2010, not 2008) and one can see that in Switzerland Firefox gradually falls. Firefox has no plan to turn things around because all Mozilla cares about is "monetising" the users of Firefox until they run out, even literally run out.
Cyber|Show has this new article today, urging Firefox users to try WaterFox, Pale Moon, SeaMonkey (it also said IceWeasel some hours ago; they've removed it but have not added LibreWolf). "In particular," they say, "we think IceCat is a good option because it is GNU software and free from hidden binary code and non-free software. Alternatively, why not donate some money to the Ladybird project, or other FOSS teams trying to build actual privacy-friendly browsers."
Mozilla has managed to alienate some of the biggest fans of Firefox. A job well done? 5 million dollars a year in CEO salary? █
