THIS is a response to the detailed video about the Linux Foundation, published (with our transcript of it) earlier this week in Australia.

I try not to be overly cynical or critical; I just try to expand on (or correct) what the vlogger - a man called Brodie (and whom I sometimes disagree with - asserted. I mostly agree with his supposition that Linux Foundation (LF) does not care about "desktop" GNU/Linux; the idea that it somehow would (given more pressure) may be misguided because of the funding model and corporate infiltration at all important levels, not just the board.

We might need to accept that the Linux Foundation lost its way and we need to create (or support) something else.

An associate of ours explained that he would consider it "not too cynical that there is the possibility that the members of the GPL-infringers club are there to ensure that as little as possible of the Foundation's money is spent on actual Linux. It's about 2% - 3% depending on the year and, as Brodie and the others point out, there is 0% spent on desktop Linux. In part because that treads on the toes on Microsoft and its partners in the LF. But the overall matter is one caused by NSA, FSB, GCHQ, etc who don't care what the fuck happens to computers as long as they themselves continue to have an easy time accessing via backdoors and bugdoors."

He further noted that "those backdoor and bugdoors are the core of Microsoft Windows and not feasible with desktop GNU/Linux."
